Meet the team
 

She has spent the last 20 years researching communication in businesses and organisations. Professor Mullany has published widely on this topic and has successfully delivered training and research-based consultancy to a wide range of businesses and organisations, from SMEs through to large multinationals. She has presented her professional communication research in a number of locations worldwide including New Zealand, Hong Kong, Canada, China, Brazil, Argentina, Poland, Spain and the UK.

 

Mal currently conducts research in the area of professional communication, focusing in particular on leadership and interpersonal communication in the workplace environment. Malgorzata’s research interests also include computer-mediated discourse. 
 

Chris has facilitated workshops on the importance of effective communication in diverse contexts, from professional business environments to category A prisons. In his workshops Chris draws on over 15 years’ experience working as an actor and a director to help participants think about the importance of ‘total’ communication: verbal and nonverbal communication.
 

Professor Kathy Conklin is Professor in Psycholinguistics at the University of Nottingham. She has 20 years’ experience applying eye-tracking to reading and is co-author of Eye-tracking: A Guide for Applied Linguistics Research, published by Cambridge University Press. 

 

Sarah spent over a decade working in theatre, having trained as an actor both at the Central School of Speech and Drama and at The Poor School in London. She is an expert on examining the interface between language and performance, including body language and gesture, in a range of different communicative contexts and has delivered training, coaching and consultancy to a range of businesses and organisations. 
 

Lucy’s research focuses on the relationships between language, gender and sexuality. The majority of her published work considers the ways in which individuals articulate a sense of identity through language, and the relationship this has to their experience as LGBT people. She is currently Principal Investigator on a project in collaboration with a Gender Identity Clinic, exploring narratives produced by the clinic’s patients in order to better understand the support needs of transgender people accessing these services.
