Biography

I am a biomedical engineer and, in 2013, I obtained my PhD in Bioengineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy).

My research interests include the bioengineering of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, the development of computational models of human physiology and pathology, animal models of respiratory diseases, ultrasonography of the diaphragm and opto-pletismography.

My research focusses on the development of computational simulation and mathematical modelling of the cardiopulmonary system as the primary methodology to model critically ill patients and develop personalised and optimised resuscitation and rescue strategies.
