Biography

Rebecca is currently employed as a Trial Manager in the Division of Lifespan and Population Health working on exploratory randomized control trials looking at new approaches to smoking cessation. Project areas include stop smoking services and lung cancer screening

Research Summary

Rebecca is currently working on the YorQuit Study, looking at ways to support people who attend for lung cancer screening programs to quit smoking.

Past Research

The Yorkshire Enhanced Stop Smoking Study. The Yorkshire Enhanced Stop Smoking study measured the effectiveness of an smoking cessation service integrated within the Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial (YLST) and tested the efficacy of a personalised smoking cessation intervention, incorporating incidental findings detected on the low-dose CT scan performed as part of YLST.

A randomised control trial looking at enhanced smoking cessation support packages for newly abstinent smokers discharged from hospital.

An exploratory randomised control trial of an intervention to reduce children's exposure to second hand smoke in the home.
