MSc Quantum Science and Technology

This new masters course provides a broad introduction to the mathematical principles and practical applications of quantum science and technology. It offers ideal training for a future career in this fast-developing field.

This course provides an introduction to the physical principles and mathematical techniques of current research in general relativity, quantum gravity, particle physics, quantum field theory, quantum information theory, cosmology and the early universe.

MRes

An MRes is a one-year course which combines a research project with 40 credits of taught modules. You can also take up to 20 optional credits of training in the Midlands Physics Alliance Graduate School (MPAGS) and/or the Researcher Academy.

English language qualification

Advanced English Language Skills training is provided through the University of Nottingham’s Centre for English Language Education (CELE) to which our international postgraduates have full access. CELE offers a wide range of courses to support students with language and study skills demands of the research degree course in Physics & Astronomy. Courses focus on specific skills areas in the English language such as academic writing skills, academic reading and listening skills, grammar and vocabulary, academic and conversational speaking and pronunciation.
