Policy and procedure
Includes: annual monitoring; campus solutions; curriculum updating cycle; programme of study information; module information; deadlines for curriculum changes
Schools may identify changes to programme and module information held centrally in Campus Solutions as a result of their annual monitoring or other teaching review procedures. Schools must ensure that these changes are reflected in Campus Solutions as part of the annual curriculum updating cycle. Programme and module information held in Campus Solutions is used for multiple central processes, including publication of the Online Module Catalogue, creating the Teaching Timetable and Online Module Enrolment. It is therefore imperative that information held about programmes and modules is accurate and changes made according to published deadlines.
Schools should always consider the impact of any changes to their programmes or modules on both the student, other programmes in the School and other Schools. Consultation may be necessary with affected School(s) and/or students; there may also be the need to seek QSC approval before the changes can be implemented.
For these purposes students will include applicants who have accepted an offer of a place on a programme (and therefore have formed a contract with the University) and will also need to be informed of significant changes to programme structures.

Late change process
It is recognised that there may be a need to make changes to the curriculum for ‘essential’ and/or ‘unforeseen’ reasons after the chosen curriculum updating cycle deadline. For changes falling in this category Programme/Module leads should seek approval for the change to curriculum from their Head of School (HoS) or other nominated school curriculum lead. HoS/curriculum lead should consider whether the change meets the criteria for a late change (i.e. essential/unforeseen) before approving it.
