In their pioneering work, Professors John and Elizabeth Newson (Psychology, Nottingham) followed children in diverse areas of Nottingham from birth in the late 1950s into the 1970s.
Their illuminating data (now accessible and usable) will be presented as the centre piece; giving those who live in studied areas of Nottingham now a peak into life then.
We aim to bring the grandchildren of this cohort together and, together, form the basis of collaborative contemporary research in areas of Nottingham (eg St Ann’s) with historically inspired perspectives. The event will include film, images, and presentations and an informal lunch to make new contacts.
