Why study the MSc Entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurial behaviour, the ability to develop opportunities, bring innovation to an organisation and to work creatively, is regarded as increasingly important by employers in this globalised economy. This programme is designed to help develop and enhance these entrepreneurial capabilities. Students from all disciplines are considered for the course.
The programme requires high levels of participation and commitment and embodies a strong practical element to support the theoretical learning, giving you the opportunity to learn how to apply your knowledge within organisations or towards starting a business venture. Classes can involve case studies, guest speakers, exercises, simulations, lectures and group projects.
Semester One modules are taught in intensive consecutive blocks. In the second, modules are taught across the semester and you can customise your MSc by choosing subjects from the Sustainability or International Business tracks. Students also work as a team on a 'live' consultancy project with businesses associated with the University and will deliver the findings and recommendations of these projects to the senior management of these organisations.
During the summer, we offer you the opportunity to develop a Business Plan or undertake an academic Dissertation. This choice enables you to complete the programme with an outcome unique to you and your interests. You'll receive close practitioner or academic support whichever option you choose.
Our International Office is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of our international students. The team has extensive expertise in matters such as visa and immigration support, and members of staff travel regularly to different countries to meet prospective students and offer advice on academic entry requirements and studying in the UK.
Information is available via the International Office website on a variety of subjects such as immigration requirements and working and living in the UK.
