Company visits in Nottingham and London
Among the highlights of the Nottingham MBA, our Business Practice Week takes you and your classmates to companies and organisations in Nottingham and London.
You’ll learn first-hand about different types of businesses, their current challenges and how these relate to the theory you’re studying.
You can expect an intensive week of visits to various workplaces, from art galleries to global financial services giants. Talks and briefings from alumni and business leaders will challenge your approach to important strategic business decisions and help you understand how business concepts are best applied.
This opportunity to forge relationships with like-minded people, be inspired by leading experts, while relating theory to practice will be invaluable to your future success.
I've been speaking to the MBA students for two years in our offices and am always impressed by their enthusiasm and interest. The quality of questions continues to be thoughtful and fresh, demonstrating the concepts and current applicability of their learnings, which in turn makes it insightful for me. Always a pleasure.

Business Practice Week was by far one of my favourite parts of the fall semester. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit almost ten companies and two non-profit organisations. I loved the exposure to different industries.
Each speaker was kind, inviting, and knowledgeable about their company and topic. In many cases, the theory we were learning in class was very applicable to what we learned at each company. One of my favourite visits was to JCB, which was a company I wouldn’t have sought out on my own that is far more dimensional than I could have anticipated.
My personal favourite was working with the Hope Centre in Nottingham, a base for charitites working together to support the community. We worked in teams to present an idea supporting the sustainability of their weekly café. Being able to further my education and learn while helping the community - there is no better feeling.

I have been involved in presentations to the MBA on two occasions and for both I was struck by the keen energy of the cohort, engaging discussion and insightful questions. It is a pleasure to be involved with the MBAs and academic team
