International study tours

The international MBA study tour allows you to develop an expansive view of the global business landscape through a mixture of field visits to organisations in the destination country. Destinations include the USA, China and Malaysia where one location will be chosen in each year for the international tour. The tour gives you the opportunity to reflect on the application of theory to practical business management issues.

These study tours provide opportunities to take advantage of our unique campuses in China and Malaysia.

(While there are travel restrictions due to the Covid 19 pandemic, international study tours will be delivered virtually).

The MBA enabled me to use academic knowledge and approaches to explore strategic insights of any business.

Connect with business

Throughout your MBA, you will encounter and engage with senior business figures, practitioners and internationally renowned academics. They will challenge your approach and understanding of contemporary strategic business challenges.

You will take modules that will put you at the head of a management team, allowing you to develop innovative solutions to problems and crises that may threaten the operation and reputation of a business.

For example, you will learn to manage a press conference with journalists and present strategic solutions to a board drawn from senior directors of major organisations.

Dr Niamh O’Sullivan talks about the MBA Sustainable Decisions and Organisations module.

Business Practice week

The Business Practice week is an integral part of the MBA and provides valuable opportunities to visit a selection of international, national, small medium enterprise and a consulting community project with local not for profit community projects in association with Business in the Community.

It also introduces students to current business strategies, practices and challenges businesses face and provides a platform to enhance students understanding of the dimensions of business in the areas of Strategic Management, Operations Management, Managing People, Marketing, Business Economics Finance and consulting.

(Study tours are offered at an additional cost to students.)

Business Practice week was by far one of my favourite parts of the fall semester. I loved the exposure to different industries. Being able to further my education and learn while helping the community - there is no better feeling.
