Description

The Wheee! family weekend is always special and this year is no exception. There will be lots of arts and craft activities plus outdoor theatre and dance performances to entertain family members of all ages. The fun will start at mid-day (although the luminarium will be open from 11am with the usual ticketed entry).

*all events free with the exception of Daedalude Luminarium and indoor theatre performances.

Events throughout the weekend include:

* Fantastic Spiders – facts and fiction with Sarah Goodacre from the University of Nottingham’s School of Life Sciences

* Camera Obscura workshops with Jon Legge

* The Curious Perambulator and its inventive Spider Trails

* A climbing wall, pop-up tennis, football skills and futsal with membersfrom the David Ross Sports Village and Nottingham Tennis Centre

* Paper Spiders and Giant Web-making workshops

* Heritage stories from Highfields Park with Nicky Rafferty

* Summer-watch with Highfields Park Ranger, Steve Clarke and BioBlitz

* Traditional Chinese Crafts with the Nottingham Confucius Institute

 11am-5.15pm Architects of Air: Luminarium - Daedalude 
 11.30am   Branching out with Birch & Hazel - magical, funny and informative woodland story & performance experience
  11.30am (Sat only)   Andy Manley: Stick by me - gentle, beautiful, non-verbal theatre for 3-5 years
 12noon-4.30pm   Where It All Began - the original Jamie Johnson pilot
 12.15pm  A Bird in the Hand Theatre: The Bewonderment Machine - artist-built, cycle powered carousel for ages 2-6
 12.30pm  Charmaine Childs: Strong Lady - exhilarating and astonishing feats of strength 
1pm   Mark Evans: music workshop
 1.30pm  Bongo Bolero: The Dick Danger Show - acrobatic antics, dad dancing and diving into a bucket of water!
1.45pm   Branching out with Birch & Hazel
 2pm (Sat only)  Andy Manley: Stick by me
 2pm   Silent Disco
 2.15pm   A Bird in the Hand Theatre: The Bewonderment Machine 
 2.15pm (Sat only)  Candoco Dance Company: You & I Know - duet choreographed by Arlene Phillips 
 2.15pm (Sun only)   Motionhouse: Lost - choreographed by Kevin Finnan 
  2.30pm  Middleton Corpus: The Seedling - acrobatic dance theatre, choreographed by Anthony Middleton
2.45pm   Charmaine Childs: Strong Lady
