Get Started in the School of English
Welcome to the School of English! We want to make it as easy as possible for you to start your course so on this page we've put together useful links and resources in one place to help you with your first few weeks at University.
Find your Student Hub!
All students have access to a Community or Experience Hub. This is the place to find all the information about your course, and get updates throughout your degree. The hubs can be found on Moodle (UG and PGT courses) and Sharepoint (PGR).

Personal Tutor
Your personal tutor is there to help support your profesional and academic development, as well as helping to support pastoral and wellbeing needs.
You can find the name of your personal tutor through MyNottingham.

IT Services
The IT Services team are there to help you with all the software, programs and technology you need to use at University.
The Student IT Support Tutors are current students who are on hand to help fellow students with IT problems and offer IT advice. For the start of term they are available through virtual Smart Bar sessions.
Student Services
Student Service Centres offer support, guidance and information for students. They also support access to online services and signposting to other University services.
The Student Service Centre for English Students is University Park Central (UPC). For the start of the 20/21 academic year the physical centres are closed and all student support is taking place online.
Peer Mentors
Peer Mentors are current students who can support new students by sharing advice and insights about being a student to help new students settle in.
Mentors are available to new first year and PGT students as well as to students on one of the 2+2 or exchange programmes.
Student Support and Wellbeing Officers
The Student Support and Wellbeing Officers provide advice and support to students.
They can also provide information on University and external support services and advice on University policy and processes.
Student's Union Advice Centre
The Student's Union Advice Centre is completely independent from the University. The service offers confidential and impartial advice to all students.
The Advice Centre can provide information on Housing, Finances, Health and Wellbeing, Employment and your course.
