Music student writes for The Guardian on preparing for a career in social work

A Nottingham music student has written a ‘week in the life’ for The Guardian’s current feature on the NHS. The student, who writes anonymously to preserve patient confidentiality, is preparing for entry to a fast-track graduate programme to train as a mental health social worker. Currently she is volunteering with the Carers Federation, mentoring young carers. Her article gives insight into the valuable work she has already undertaken, and her thoughts on progressing from a Music degree to a career in the NHS.

You can read her article 'The secret trainee social worker's diary' on The Guardian website.
