Term Dates
The first day of your course is Wednesday 28 August 2024. You must be available to attend in person on this date.
There will be a range of opportunities available to you to support you as you begin your PGCE courses. These will include:
- activities to enable you to get to know the campus
- opportunities to familiarise yourself with IT facilities and learning resources
- opportunities to begin to get to know your peers
- familiarisation with the student welfare support available to you and guidance on approaches to wellbeing during an intensive professional programme
The document below shows the structure of the year and when you will be in university or on school placements. This is a draft and subject to change. An updated version will be given to you at the start of your course. Your live timetable will be available via the online timetable system.

Please be aware this is a full-time professional course. Attendance is compulsory for both university and school-based elements of the course. Please do not book any holidays other than within the Christmas vacation until you start the course and know your school placements.
