  4. Complete the bursary process if eligible

    DfE bursary
You may be entitled to receive a bursary or scholarship during your training year if one is offered to you by the DfE. These bursaries or scholarships are paid directly to you by the university in 10 equal monthly instalments, October to July. You will be sent a letter before the start of your course informing you of your bursary eligibility, this information will be provisional until we have seen evidence of your qualifications.

You will receive your bursary confirmation letter by email week commencing 21 August 2023. You will be asked to acknowledge receipt of the letter by completing a short form, the link to this form is embedded in the email. You must complete this form by 22 September 2023 and add your banking information to your MyNottingham portal for the first payment to be made to you at the end of October.

It is important to note that the university is not able to make payment to you unless you are a fully registered student. It is your responsibility to ensure you complete all parts of the registration process fully. To ensure you can receive payments, it is important that you provide your valid UK bank account details via the Finances section of MyNottingham and enrol in Direct Deposit. For information on how to do this, including help guides, please go to our 'submit your bank details' webpage.
