Biography

Senior Research Fellow within the Primary Care Stratified Medicine Research Group.

Dr Akyea obtained his medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School, master's degree in public health (MPH) and doctorate (PhD) in Primary Care from the University of Nottingham.

My research, focused on population health, uses routinely collected electronic healthcare records and cohort data to understand disease heterogeneity and identify unique patient groups at greater risk of adverse clinical outcomes. My research aims to deliver better outcomes for patients.

I collaborate extensively with multidisciplinary research teams, charities, as well as Patient Public Involvement and Engagement Group to improve patient outcomes.
