Technical Administrator, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
I graduated with a 2:i in both German & Russian (Beginners) from the University of Nottingham in 2006 and Quantity Surveying & Construction Commercial Management from Nottingham Trent University in 2012. While I have lapsed in the field of building surveying, I maintain an active interest in Russian language & culture and German sociolinguistics and completed my Master of Arts (by research) in Russian heavy metal (http://eprints.nottingham.ac.uk/50791/) in 2017. My main research interests are in Russian heavy and power metal, specifically the translation of songs and influences on lyrics. I currently support my research by working for the NIHR Hearing BRC as an administrator specialising in technical matters. I am also a volunteer and trustee at Newark Air Museum and maintain active links with the SU through Role-Playing and Wargames Society (RPGSoc).

Authenticity in Soviet Russian popular music and youth culture
My current research is in Russian heavy metal and Soviet youth culture in the 1980s.
I am also an active member of the Students' Union: I have been a committee member of Role-Playing & Wargames Society and an active member of the Postgraduate Executive Committee. I get involved with students and other associate members, helping them navigate their way round the University and its systems. I also have a lot of knowledge (by comparison to my peers) of Nottingham and the surrounding area, its history and especially public transport.
I attend a lot of alumni events too. I'm often available to help out with alumni (especially Cultures, Languages and Area Studies) and SU events as I live near University Park.
