Advanced Analysis

Our research captures:

  • Atomic force microscopy
  • nano and micro- scale imaging
  • spectroscopy
  • quantitative and qualitative mass spectrometry analysis
  • imaging mass spectrometry

The last decade has seen a rapid development of specialised analytical technologies for measuring, monitoring and imaging molecules and materials.

Advanced Analysis

Information obtained using these advanced techniques is critical to improve our understanding of biomedical systems and in the discovery of new materials for healthcare applications.

We have an extensive, state-of-the art analytical equipment base to enable observation and measurement at the micro- and nano-scale with exquisite sensitivity. We employ these advanced analytical facilities to address complex and challenging research problems.

Our primary analytical technologies are:

  • Quantitative bioanalytical mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
  • Atomic force microscopy (AFM)
  • Imaging and surface mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS, DESI-MS, LESA-MS)
  • Metabolomics, lipidomics and biomarker identification (high resolution mass spectrometry)
  • Optical nanosensors
