Key Aims and Expertise

The Centre for Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) was established in 2010 as an international research hub to conduct translational industry-focused research in future aerospace assembly systems. Building on our strong EPSRC, EU Clean Sky 2, Horizon 2020 and Innovate UK research record, the centre has rapidly expanded its project portfolio with industrial partnerships now including Airbus Operations UK, Airbus Helicopters, BAE Systems, Leonardo and GE Aviation.

Our key aims are as follows:

  • Development & delivery of key technology road maps in core research themes
  • Introduction of disruptive technology to shape industrial strategy
  • Delivery of innovative projects addressing industrial partners’ needs
  • Increased engagement in UK, European and Global research agenda
  • Growth & expansion of CAM through focus on key research themes, strengthening industrial partnerships and collaboration

All work is carried out under our ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System and managed according to PRINCE2 Project Management.
