As Education and Student Experience Manager for Student Voice, I have developed several new initiatives to make progress in this area. This work includes starting a new paid student rep system and creating several paid student roles to increase engagement from students in this area. So far, this has resulted in increased student engagement in all faculty-level committees, more student-led events in this area, more students taking chairing responsibilities in school forums across the faculty. I currently train and support a cohort of eighteen Senior Student Representatives across the Faculty of Science. I work closely with them to support their development and deliver key student voice projects that align with the team, and the faculties' strategic vision. I also work closely with student voice colleagues across the wider institution and sector wide bodies on university wide changes and reviews to this area.
In addition to this I work with all seven schools that sit within the Faculty of Science on developing events and activities to address key areas of concern identified using internal and external metrics. This includes NSS data, and ongoing student feedback gathered using various methods across the academic year. In addition to this, as part of the faculty ESE team, I work with other student-facing teams to gather student data on engagement and use this to inform our event planning and to understand the differences between each school on both the demographics of those needing this support and the timing of critical points in the year where these services are heavily utilised.
