International student life
With a community of over 40,000 students from more than 150 countries, the University of Nottingham is a truly global university.
Your student experience is about much more than studying. Here, we highlight some of the opportunities you can take advantage of while studying with us as an international student.
Our Students' Union hosts over 200 student societies. Choose from hobbies, sports and volunteering.
There are cultural, national and religious societies, providing a way to connect with other students.
Faith support and facilities
Our Chaplaincy Team provide faith support and facilities for individual faith communities.
This includes a chapel, Muslim prayer rooms and multi-faith prayer rooms.
Nottingham is a great city for students and is home to a diverse community of residents from many cultures.
Study abroad opportunities
Studying in another country during your Nottingham degree programme – through an exchange programme or summer school – is a great way to broaden your university experience.
Each year, we recruit international and EU students to support us as International Student Ambassadors. This role provides an opportunity to share your experiences of life at Nottingham and gain experience.
Students with families
Support available for couples and families includes:
- dependant visas for family members
- some university accomodation options
- guidance on other accommodation options
- childcare facilities and guidance on schooling
Host UK is a national charity, providing international students with the opportunity to meet British people and enjoy their hospitality by making a weekend visit to their home.
