Meet the team

Our Executive Education team are here to provide you with the support you need to fully understand the learning and developmental needs of you and your organisation.

From identifying specific requirements, developing ideas and solutions and delivering professional programmes and workshops, we will work closely with you to provide a professional, informative and also engaging learning experience.

As a team, we have extensive experience of delivering executive programmes and world-class customer-focused training solutions. We also work closely with academics, business leaders and entrepreneurs who provide the underpinning expertise that goes into our programmes.

Dr Luis Torres

Director of Executive Education

Luis is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Executive MBA programmes. He is also a Researcher in Residence at Connected Places Catapult, co-founder of Sustaina Value in Chile, and Associate Editor for Safety Science. He worked in the University of Nottingham Ningbo Campus (China) for 2.5 years before joining NUBS UK in 2020.

Luis has worked for over 15 years for organisations in Chile, Spain, China, and the UK. He has led client-focussed management consulting and learning solutions for public and private sector organisations in several industries including manufacturing, finance, logistics, energy, agriculture, and retail, among others. He has designed and delivered executive education programmes for middle and top management teams including the C-Suite and the Board of Directors of large and medium-sized companies.

Luis’ expertise lies on the governance, risk, and management of sustainable organisations. Key themes in his work are corporate social responsibility/ESG, labour inequalities, and compliance management. His projects have been funded by institutions such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Health Data Research UK, the Innovation Launchpad Network+, and the Transforming Foundation Industries Network+.

Luis holds a PhD in Management, a MA in Environmental Law and Sustainability, a MSc in Human Resources, and a BSc (Hons) in Organisational Psychology.

Nick brings over 15 years of experience in the education and consultancy sector, specialising in education and workforce development. His core strength lies in strategic key account management, where he has successfully built, managed, and grown long-term partnerships with a wide range of clients across both public and private sectors.

With his ability to understand complex organisational needs, Nick delivers tailored learning and development solutions that align with business goals. He takes a consultative approach to account management, ensuring consistent client engagement, high satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.

Sue has over 20 years of experience developing and managing educational programmes within Higher Education through effective internal and external stakeholder relationship management and specific expertise in programme management. Passionate about offering excellent customer service and a highly professional educational experience, Sue manages the Executive Education operations from enquiry to programme development and high-quality delivery.

Senior Operations Officer (MBA & Executive Education)

Nicola has experience providing project and developmental support for Partnerships and Small Businesses across Universities. Nicola’s background in employer engagement spans open and custom programmes as well as the apprenticeship process. She places high value on communication and ensuring strong customer relations. Nicola leads on managing the Help to Grow: Management course.

Sam Rosen

Sam has worked for the Executive Education team since 2022. Sam has a background in linguistics and web editing and is responsible for maintaining the Executive Education webpages and social media content, and organising and delivering our programmes. Sam also leads on ensuring that our programmes are accessible and inclusive and is a member of the School's Athena Swan steering group.

Hoiyan Chen

Senior Operations Officer

Hoiyan graduated from the University of Nottingham and joined the Executive Education team in 2025. She brings extensive experience working with senior stakeholders across government, media, and education sectors globally, and is confident in coordinating cross-cultural projects. Prior to this role, she gained valuable experience in alumni engagement and philanthropy.

Within the Executive Education team, Hoiyan is responsible for coordinating programmes and events, with expertise in event planning and client hospitality. She is known for her strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring each project is delivered professionally and meets expectations. With a passion for building meaningful connections with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, Hoiyan is committed to supporting impactful learning experiences that drive engagement and lasting outcomes.
