Business Source Premier (EBSCO)

Business Source Premier provides full text access to nearly 8,800 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. The database covers business, management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, operations research, organisational dynamics and so on. For more than 350 of the top scholarly journals full text access dates as far back as 1922. The database also includes other sources of full text information such as country economic reports and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies (for example, from the Datamonitor Company Profiles Authority). It is also possible to search the Regional Business News database, which incorporates 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires covering all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States.

The IET Digital Library gives us full text access to the set of 13 IEE Proceedings titles. Additionally it provides access to a number of individual journal titles, which are listed on our electronics journals pages. We also have access to the IEE conference proceedings and seminar papers.

We have subscribed to full-text access to the core collection of IEEE transactions, journals and magazines from 1998. Notable exclusions are IEEE Spectrum and Proceedings of the IEEE. The individual journal titles are listed on our electronic journals pages.

Internet Library of Early Journals

ILEJ, the Internet Library of Early Journals, was a joint project by the Universities of Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Oxford, conducted under the auspices of the eLib (Electronic Libraries) Programme. It aimed to digitise substantial runs of 18th and 19th century journals, and make these images available on the Internet, together with their associated bibliographic data. The project finished in 1999, and no additional material will be added.

The JSTOR project is a digital archive of fully searchable back issues of scholarly journals in anthropology, Asian Afro American studies, ecology, economics, education, finance, general science, history, literature, mathematics, philosophy, political science, sociology, and statistics.

Project MUSE

Project MUSE was launched in 1995 by the Johns Hopkins University Press, to offer the full text of JHUP scholarly journals via the world wide web. In 1999, MUSE published online 46 JHUP titles in the humanities, social sciences.


PsycARTICLES® is a database of full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe Publishing Group.  PsycARTICLES is the only electronic source for APA's journals.

The Times Digital Archive

Researchers can search through the complete digital edition of The Times (London), using keyword searching and hit-term highlighting to retrieve full facsimile images of either a specific article or a complete page. The entire newspaper is captured, with all articles, advertisements and illustrations/photos divided into categories to facilitate searching. Coverage: 1785 - 1985.
