Abstracts in New Technologies and Engineering (ANTE)

Abstracts in New Technologies and Engineering indexes newspaper articles and popular science and technology journals. The database contains over 275,000 records from 1971 to date.

Aluminium Industry Abstracts

Provides coverage of the world's technical literature on aluminium, ranging from ore processing through applications. The Aluminium Industry Abstracts database includes information abstracted from approximately 2,300 scientific and technical journals, government reports, conference proceedings, dissertations, books, and patents. All aspects of the aluminium industry, aside from mining, are covered.

American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

All the journals in the ASME digital library are hosted on the AIP Scitation database.

Biotechnology Research Abstracts

This database provides bibliographic coverage of ground-breaking research, applications, regulatory developments and new patents across all areas of biotechnology and bioengineering, including medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, environmental and marine biology.

Business Source Premier (EBSCO)

Full text access to nearly 8,800 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. The database covers business, management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, operations research, organisational dynamics and so on. For more than 350 of the top scholarly journals full text access dates as far back as 1922.

The database also includes other sources of full text information such as country economic reports and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies (for example, from the Datamonitor Company Profiles Authority). It is also possible to search the Regional Business News database, which incorporates 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires covering all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States.

Civil Engineering Abstracts

Citations, abstracts, and indexing of the serials literature in civil engineering and its complementary fields, including forensic engineering, management and marketing of engineering services, engineering education, theoretical mechanics and dynamics, and mathematics and computation. This database provides comprehensive international coverage as well as numerous non-serial publications. Many of the more recent records in the database include fields containing cited references, corresponding author's e-mail address, and publisher contact information. Copper Technical Reference Library

An online bibliographic database of the world's literature on copper, copper alloys and copper technology since 1965. The Copper Reference Library covers copper technology from smelting and hydrometallurgy through the performance of copper and copper alloys in their end-use applications and service environments. It references data on the properties and performance of copper and copper alloys and on applications of the copper metals. Over 52,000 documents have been indexed into this database, including 5582 documents published between 1863 and 1964.

Corrosion Abstracts

The world's most complete source of bibliographic information in the area of corrosion science and engineering. International sources of literature are scanned and abstracted in the areas of general corrosion, testing, corrosion characteristics, preventive measures, materials construction and performance, and equipment for many industries.

Covers advances in electronics and communications, abstracts from 1981 onwards, updated monthly

Emerald Insight (Journals and ebooks)

Users have access to over 58,000 articles from Emerald's international management portfolio, complete with full text archives back to 1994. Subject coverage spans a spectrum of management disciplines including: strategy; leadership; library and information management; marketing and human resource management; plus a substantial number of engineering, applied science and technology titles.

Encyclopedia of Materials Science and Techonology

This major reference work is available in 11 printed volumes (George Green Library TA403 ENC) and also as searchable full text over the Internet. Topics include: material properties, techniques and processing; electrical, electronic and mechanical devices; and industrial applications.  

Engineered Materials Abstracts

The growing importance of polymers, ceramics, and composites in a variety of structural and other advanced applications requires the in-depth coverage provided by Engineered Materials Abstracts (EMA). Citations regarding the research, manufacturing practices, properties and applications of these materials have been taken from 1,300 journals, plus dissertations, government reports, conference proceedings, and books indexed by expert editors from Materials Information. Begun in 1986, Engineered Materials Abstracts is an electronic database containing Ceramics, Composites and Polymers subfiles.  EMA is specifically designed to serve materials sciences researchers, engineers and scientists.  

Ergonomics Abstracts

An international abstracting service, spanning the world of ergonomics and human factors. This global directory of over 112,000 records includes related material from psychology, physiology, biomechanics, job design, human-computer interaction, safety science, human engineering, medicine, occupational health, sport and transport.

IEEE Xplore Digital Library

An online delivery system providing full text access to more than 400 ebooks from IEEE-Wiley.  We have subscribed to full-text access to the core collection of IEEE transactions, journals and magazines from 1998. Notable exclusions are IEEE Spectrum and Proceedings of the IEEE. The individual journal titles are listed on our electronic journals pages.

Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)

The Institution of Chemical Engineers has digitized its journal archive back to 1923. The archive, in PDF format, is fully searchable by volume and author, and by keyword across the full text of every article.

METADEX

The Metals Abstracts portion of the file includes references to about 1,200 primary journal sources. Alloys Index supplements Metals Abstracts by providing access to the records through commercial, numerical, and compositional alloy designations; specific metallic systems; and intermetallic compounds found within these systems. Informative abstracts are included for most records since 1979.

Proquest Dissertations and Theses

This database is the world’s most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses from around the world, spanning from 1743 to the present day. Includes citations for dissertations ranging from 1861 to those accepted last semester. Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts; master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Titles available as native or image PDF formats include free twenty-four page previews. More than 600,000 are available in native or image PDF formats for immediate free download to subscribers

Reaxys

Reaxys is searchable by structures, reactions, properties, text and authors. It incorporates a synthesis planner designed for the synthetic organic chemist.  Reaxys contains data from Beilstein (organic chemistry) and Gmelin (inorganic and organometallic chemistry). It also includes a chemical patents database.

Solid State and Superconductivity Abstracts
