Our Division undertakes pioneering research in the basic and biomedical sciences, aimed at understanding biological processes, and applied research in the areas of target identification, bioassay development and drug discovery.
The Division brings together expertise in molecular and cell biology, synthetic medicinal and computational chemistry, structural biology and bioscience, which we apply in an integrated manner to basic questions in gene regulation, molecular recognition, disease target identification and ultimately to the design of molecular probes and molecules with potential therapeutic applications.

The multidisciplinary research activities undertaken within the Biomolecular Science and Medicinal Chemistry Division fall within four key areas: Gene Regulation and RNA Biology, Computational Modelling and Informatics, Structural Biology and Medicinal Chemistry; combining to provide a unique multidisciplinary environment focused on the development of new treatments for many different diseases.
