Studying for a PhD

Becoming a PhD student in the School of Pharmacy means joining a thriving research community exploring world-changing issues at the forefront of science and healthcare.

You will develop skills prized by academia and the biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries alike, to assist you in achieving your career goals.

We offer a mixture of research-focused three and four year PhD programmes, supported by taught courses that will broaden your scientific knowledge and give you high-quality training in basic, strategic and applied aspects of research. Students explore a diverse and fascinating range of subjects and there’s every opportunity to tailor your studies and focus on areas of interest.

We have a number of vacancies available. Some funded projects are only available to UK/EU or International students. If you have your own funding secured, via sponsorship or an employer for instance, you may also apply for projects or direct to the school.
