I lead a basic neuroscience research group which is primarily focused on investigating the mechanisms of brain function and dysfunction through a range of imaging, behavioural and molecular biology approaches utilising preclinical models of CNS injury and ageing.  I am particularly interested in developing novel MRI methodologies for examining brain function, investigating the role of biological sex and steroid hormones in vascular disease  and cognitive decline and increasing the translational relevance of preclinical research.
