		Brian Painter PhD Candidate Tel: 0115 84 68410 Fax: 0115 95 15249 Background: Brian joined CGS as a PhD candidate in 2006 . Brian has a 1st in Maths from East Anglia(1992) an MSc in Information Technology (distinction) from Loughborough (2003) and 8 years commercial experience as a software engineer plus self-employed experience. IT skills – C, C++, Objective-C for various platforms and environments. Javascript, assembler code on various platforms. Current Project: Brian is investigating internet/web "Fusion Service" architectures based on the idea of algorithmically processing data locally at the sensor archives and combining results from multiple sources. To enable and promote interoperability the research will involve working with standards bodies to evolve existing standards and, where necessary, develop new ones.
