Background:
Hawani joined CGS as a PhD candidate in October 2008 and is expected to conclude her research in October 2011. Her research topic is "The Impact of Web 2.0 technology in Spatial Data Infrastructure", supervised by Associate Professor Bob Abrahart and Professor Mike Jackson.

Prior to arriving at Nottingham, Hawani was a Research Assistant at the Geoinformatics Department, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, developing A Spatial Modeling for Mental Health Home Care Management Using GIS, having completed her Master Degree in Geoinformatics.

Current Project:
Recent Web 2.0 technologies have produced new trends in how users interact with online information. This emergence results in major impacts to the use and development of geo-browsers such as Google Earth, as well as the topic of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) as a whole. Mathilde's current project explores these impacts.
