Background:
Saad joined CGS as a PhD candidate in February 2007 and is expected to conclude his research in February 2010. His research topic is "An Intelligent Geospaital Information Management Model for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". Saad's main funding source the goverment of Saudi Arabia.

Current Project:
Saad’s research concentrates on developing a conceptual framework for an Intelligent Geospatial Management Model and Spatial Data Infrastructure for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The development of the proposed model depends on thorough investigations and the acquisition of expertise gained from successfully executed geospatial projects in KSA. The aim of the model is to unify and standardize methods of spatial information management. The proposed model will be coded and programmed in-house using an expert system shell taking account of geospatial properties and concepts. User needs assessment, geospatial information classification International de facto and de jure standards for interoperability, geospatial metadata, and KSA legislation are a few of the factors that will be investigated and will shape the proposed mode.
