Interpersonal Skills

Key competencies

Team working

As a bioscientist addressing complex global issues and finding novel solutions, you will work with a range of people and see the benefit of working with those who see things differently and have different experiences and skills.

Scientific and professional communication

You will be taught by leading international specialists in the most rapidly developing areas of biosciences. Many academic staff who you will learn from and interact with are expert advisors to government institutions, industry and other national and international bodies.

You will work alongside these experts to become confident at creating and responsibly communicating your understanding of complex ideas and themes in your subject to others, both within your profession and society more generally.

Leadership

In solving complex global issues you will develop your leadership skills by actively including and valuing the opinions of others, gaining agreement and consensus where necessary, and through completion of group project work or individual research projects.
