This project explores the experiences of subsistence consumers in accessing healthcare systems, with a focus on the vulnerabilities they face and the strengths they leverage. By immersing in rural villages in Sri Lanka, researchers examined how consumers navigate multiple healthcare systems and the risks they encounter due to limited financial and social resources.
The project offers valuable insights for companies working in the healthcare industry, healthcare organisations and policymakers aiming to improve access and promote the well-being of subsistence consumers. It is closely aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
