Arts work placement module
For this module, you complete a local work placement in a Nottinghamshire based company or organisation. Previous roles which our students have worked in include:
- Learning and Events Assistant at Southwell Minster
- Project Officer at St Mary’s in the Lace Market
Philosophy in schools
All philosophy students get the chance to teach philosophy in local primary schools.
After training on how to deliver philosophy, classroom management, and safeguarding, students work in teams to deliver five or 10 week sessions to Key Stage 2 children.
This has been one of the most valuable things I've ever done. It was really great to see the children get excited about their thoughts on questions they had never really considered before.

Theology and religion in schools
We offer the opportunity to deliver sessions on theology and religion in local schools. We also work closely with religious organisations and community groups, helping to organise public events and student visits to places of worship.
Communicating philosophy module
Professionals such as lawyers and journalists will help you apply your philosophical skills to a range of different careers.
Learn how to communicate difficult concepts in a range of formats - for example, legal documents, funding bids or even press releases.
