Experience the world of work, enhance your CV, and learn new skills on a clinical placement
Studying pharmacology opens the door to many diverse career opportunities. Whether you want to work in a laboratory environment or not, a placement gives you chance to see what type of role you might enjoy when you finish your studies.
Many students will choose to work in the pharmaceutical industry, academic research, the NHS, research institutes and government departments.
We encourage all pharmacology students to do a placement as part of their degree. From applying in the Spring term to when you return to your studies, you'll be supported by staff from within the department and our central university placements team.
The chance to get hands-on experience before you graduate and maybe even connect with a future employer should not be under-estimated. Seize every opportunity, after all, you’ve got nothing to lose but everything to gain.
