Explore different clinical settings and develop essential skills to excel in your career

Hands-on learning is a key part of our health sciences courses to ensure you’re gaining those essential skills throughout your time with us

We know you understand the dedication required to care for people in need.

That’s why at Nottingham, although there are no placements in your foundation year, once you progress to your BSc degree, practical learning is interwoven into your course. Giving you the chance to gain real-life clinical experience of care and the patient journey.

We know the importance of exposure to a varied caseload, in real environments. That’s why with us you’ll experience a range of settings* including:

  • Emergency Department (nursing)
  • Acute mental health (nursing)
  • Paediatric Critical Care (nursing)
  • Antenatal, labour, and postnatal wards (midwifery)
  • Sports clubs (sport rehabilitation)
  • Private clinics (physiotherapy)
*these will depend on the course you progress to after the completion of your foundation year.
