The study of exercise science is becoming increasingly more important. With a strong focus on science, our course aims to build your understanding of the scientific knowledge of the body and how it functions during exercise and sports and develop and sharpen your clinical skills and abilities.

A bit more about Professor Kostas Tsintzas 

Kostas has been researching human, metabolic and exercise physiology for over 20 years. His main research focus is on:

  • molecular basis of insulin resistance in obesity, diabetes, and ageing 
  • nutrient-gene interactions in skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue 
  • regulation of substrate integration in skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue 
  • nutrition and exercise in health and disease

Not only does he teach on our Sport and Exercise Science BSc, but he is also a member of The Physiological Society.
