Your economics journey starts here

Congratulations! You've earned a place at one of the UK's leading schools of economics, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you.

If you haven't already accepted your offer, it’s time to take the next step and start shaping your future. If you have accepted your offer, take a look at what you need to do next.

Economics at Nottingham

With a broad range of optional modules, from finance-related topics through to behavioural economics, you can shape your learning to match your goals.
You’ll develop the key skills employers are looking for, including data analysis to make informed decisions, evaluating policies to understand their impact, and honing your communication skills.

Our graduates go on to secure positions with top employers like EY, PwC, and KPMG, with median salaries five years after graduation reaching £55,800 (LEO data, 2021/22 tax year, published in 2024).

Find out how we’ll equip you with key transferable skills and the ability to find solutions to real-world challenges.

Peer mentoring

From the moment you join, you’ll be part of a supportive, inclusive community. Through our peer mentoring scheme, you’ll be matched with a trained second-year student who’s been where you are and who’s ready to help. Whether it’s choosing modules, finding your way around campus, or learning how to take great notes, your mentor will be there to guide you.

Economics societies

There are several societies at Nottingham with an economics focus. Such as our Nottingham Economics and Finance Society (NEFS). The NEFS is one of the biggest societies on campus. From exclusive speakers, workshops and networking events, NEFS puts you face-to-face with industry leaders and successful graduates, giving you invaluable insights.

A place to grow, learn and belong

University Park Campus is a blend of nature, history, and culture. With acres of green parkland, beautiful historic buildings, and a picturesque boating lake, it’s a truly inspiring place to live and learn.

With access to Bloomberg terminals, Datastream, and a Financial Times subscription, you’ll have the tools to explore the real-world economy from day one.

Learning that goes beyond the classroom

You could study at our campus in China or Malaysia, or with a partner institution in the USA, Australia, or Europe.

This experience will introduce you to new academic environments, teaching styles, and cultural viewpoints. This will broaden your intellectual horizons and develop your critical thinking.

Our courses do not involve an integrated year in industry. However, many of our students take up summer internships at the end of the second year and 'spring weeks' or insight days in their first year.

A successful summer internship or placement year can often lead to a graduate job offer, meaning that many of our students have secured a graduate job before they begin their final year.
