Your law journey starts here

Congratulations! You've earned a place at one of the UK's leading law schools, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you.

If you haven’t already accepted your offer, it’s time to take the next step and start shaping your future.

A world-class education with heart and ambition

We’re proud to be Top 15 in the UK for Law in the Complete University Guide 2026. That’s not just a ranking. It’s a reflection of the quality of teaching, the strength of our research, and the success of our students.

Excellence that matters

85% of our research was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent in the latest Research Excellence Framework. This means your lectures, seminars, and assignments are built on the latest thinking and real-world insights.

You’ll be learning from academics whose research is shaping the future of law across a broad range of areas from human rights and commercial law through to international criminal justice.

A place to grow, learn and belong

Our School of Law is based on University Park, which is a stunning blend of nature, history, and culture. With acres of green parkland, beautiful historic buildings, and a picturesque boating lake, it’s a truly inspiring place to live and learn.

Pathways to Practice mentoring scheme

You’ll be matched with a legal professional who understands your interests and aspirations. Whether you’re curious about commercial law, human rights, or government legal work, your mentor will help you to get a clearer sense of direction, so you can start planning your future with confidence.

Legal Skills Support

Our Legal Skills Team offers:

  • Workshops on everything from how to answer tricky problem questions to smart strategies for reading cases and taking notes that actually make sense later.
  • One-to-one sessions where you can talk through your legal writing, research, or academic skills with someone who really gets it.
  • Exam revision support, including going through past papers or essays to help you spot what you’re doing well, and where you can grow.
  • Specialist advice for international students, to help you adjust to studying law in a new language and academic system.

Learning that goes beyond the classroom

You could opt for a four-year degree and spend your third year studying at a partner institution in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore or the USA.

This experience will introduce you to new academic environments, teaching styles, and cultural viewpoints. This will broaden your intellectual horizons and develop your critical thinking.

You could opt to take a year to work full-time in a role that matches your interests. This is a great way to bring your course to life in an active working environment. Placements are a great way to:

  • gain hands-on experience while you’re still studying
  • enhance your learning by putting your studies into action

Working at Refugee Roots was such an amazing opportunity to have an impact on people’s lives while simultaneously gaining workplace skills. It taught me about the type of work environment I value and want to work in in the future.”
