School of Chemistry

The School of Chemistry is renowned for excellence in both teaching and research. We are one of the largest chemistry departments in the UK and are consistently ranked among the top institutions for research output and impact.

Our Laboratory Development Team was recently awarded the 2024 Team Prize for Excellence in Higher Education from the Royal Society of Chemistry. This was awarded in recognition of us offering an innovative and skills-focused, practical chemistry curriculum.
