Dr Bike

Studentwithbike2

Dr Bike is a free on-site bike maintenance service run with local charity Nottingham Bikeworks. This service is open to all UoN staff and students. Sessions are run at locations on UoN campuses most weeks.

The Dr Bike mechanic will give cycles a thorough check and make minor repairs, such as changing brake blocks and tightening brakes. Dr Bike will only work on clean bikes.

The service and any parts used are free of charge

Currently, Dr Bike sessions are run on University Park, Jubilee Campus and Sutton Bonington Campus. Other UoN locations will be considered if demand is high enough. If you would like a Dr Bike session to be run elsewhere, email us.

If you are unable to attend a booked slot, you must cancel your appointment a minimum of 24 hours beforehand via Eventbrite or by emailing sustainability@nottingham.ac.uk. You may lose booking rights to future sessions if you do not cancel your slot in plenty of time.

Sessions may be cancelled if there is not enough interest. In this case, those who have booked will be warned at least 24 hours in advance.

Due to insufficient demand, Sutton Bonington Dr Bike will now take place when there are enough people to run a session. Email sustainability@nottingham.ac.uk to register your interest.

The Sutton Bonington location for Dr Bike from September 2022 will be outside the Hive cafe in the Barn.

From October, the first session of each month will alternate between David Ross Sports Centre and a new location on the Portland Terrace. This is the covered area at the top of the steps at the back of the Portland Building.

Other locations

If you would be interested in a Dr Bike session at another campus other than those listed, please get in touch with us. If there is sufficient demand we may be able to organise a vist.
