Barry Knight of Joseph Clayton and Sons tannery approached the ETC to enquire about ways to improve the efficiency of hide drying.
After careful monitoring, we recommended that existing drying roms be sub-divided and each have its own heating coil and automatic temperature control valve. Simple mechanical ventilation, controlled by a humidistat, would maintain appropriate and constant relative humidity.
By the use of monitoring and the implementation of these simple measures, working conditions were improved and considerable energy savings made.
Barry commented “The ETC’s approach is non-judgmental and totally confidential, so there is nothing at all to worry about by welcoming them to your business.”
