Group Mandarin Courses
We offer three rounds of Mandarin group courses each academic year ranging from Beginners HSK Level 1 to Advanced HSK Level 5. Courses usually commence in October, January and April.
Registration for group courses in Autumn term 2023/24 is now open. Lessons are available both in person and online. Click on the following links below for course details (starting w/c 2 October 2023).
All of our group courses are delivered on weekday evenings (18:00-20:00, Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays). HSK1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3A are also available on Saturdays (10:00-12:00 or 12:30-14:30). In addition, we offer HSK 1A on mornings (10:00-12:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays). More levels of courses will be offered as students progress.
Course fees
Standard fee: £120 per 10 week course for all levels (*£110 early bird rate available up to 14 September 2023)
Concessionary fee: £110 per 10 week course, applicable to current UoN staff and students only (*£100 early bird rate available up to 14 September 2023)

To book a course and pay for your tuition fee, please visit the University Store Website.
Please note that to pay via the Store website, you will need to create an account online with them first (this should only take a few minutes). Once your account is created, you can log in with the username (your email address) and the password you have entered.
Registration deadline: 12:00 noon, Thursday 28 September 2023
Terms and Conditions:
- Fees are non-refundable and no partial refund can be given for any classes not attended.
- Applicants should usually be over 18 at the start of the course.
- A minimum of 5 students are required in order for a course to run. Should any course not recruit sufficiently a full refund will be provided.
- Where possible classes are taught by the same tutor for all classes, however NCI reserves the right to replace a tutor if necessary.
Your place will be confirmed on Friday 29 Septepmber 2023. Details on the venue for on-site lessons or Zoom meeting instructions for online lessons will be emailed to you by your class tutor on Saturday 30 Septepmber at the very latest.
