School for Primary Care research projects

The SPCR funds research to improve the evidence base for primary care practice so that ultimately, people are provided with more effective care. View research projects on the NIHR SPCR website.

Nottingham has been a member of the SPCR since 2009 and our researchers have secured over £12.5M in NIHR funding to date through SPCR membership. Funding for projects led by earlier and mid-career researchers is a priority. We regularly publish our research in high impact peer reviewed journals and our SPCR funded research findings have gone on to support changes in policy and practice, for example PINCER (Pharmacist-led information technology intervention for reducing clinically important errors in medication management) as well as to attract further funding for future research.
