We are University of Nottingham Racing. We design and build electric cars to compete in competitions and race against other universities from around the world.
What do we do?
We participate in Formula Student and Solar Challenge competitions. These events are the top educational engineering competitions and connect us with leading universities across the world. Our Formula Student and Solar Challenge teams are proudly sponsored by companies with a shared interest in green technology and clean transport solutions.
Who can join?
Anyone from the University of Nottingham can join our team. We have roles in engineering, business development, marketing, sponsorship, carbon cost tracking and more. We welcome undergraduates, postgraduates and post-doctoral researchers too. All you need is an eagerness to learn and get involved!
Opportunities to learn and practice real-world interdisciplinary engineering, from design to manufacture and testing.
Experience motor racing competitions, either on F1 tracks or across the Australian outback!
Progress with the team and gain transferable project management and leadership skills.
Achievement: Formula Student 2021
In 2021, UoN Racing Team outperformed the competition at Formula Student UK. Our car, Frankie, was the best electric vehicle (EV) and came 3rd overall across all competitions. Also, the Business Plan team won their event by beating 100+ other university teams!
