We receive outstanding recognition and rankings from employers, recognising our students’ academic success, qualifications and transferable skills. Recent graduates have secured positions at law firms such as Clifford Chance, Slaughter and May, Allen and Overy, Eversheds, and Addleshaw Goddard.
Our law students can use their degree to find employment in a variety of professions and organisations other than law, such as consultancies, business advisory services, marketing, civil service, public relations, accountancy and campaigning. Graduates have secured roles at Deloitte, Barclays, EY and the civil service.
A high proportion of our graduates go on to complete legal training relevant to that of a solicitor (Legal Practice Course) or barrister (Bar Professional Training Course), whether they have secured a training contract or pupillage.

In addition to career guidance, information and resources, the Careers and Employability Service holds workshops on CV writing, completing application forms, and interview techniques. Our lifelong career support service is available to all University of Nottingham graduates and is designed to develop your skills and confidence to help you stand out.
The careers service organises legal firm presentations and the annual law fair, one of the largest fairs of its kind in the country. This is your chance to build your network with over 70 legal organisations including international and local law firms, barristers' chambers, the Government Legal Service, representatives of the justice sector and legal education providers.
My studying experience at the University of Nottingham has been very valuable for current and future employment. It has been a good opportunity to develop not only my technical expertise but also management skills within a firm framework.
