Monica Partridge Travel Scholarship

For language students whose course has an element of Russian, Serbian or Croatian who will study abroad

The Monica Partridge Travel Scholarship was established in 2015 in memory of Monica Partridge who joined the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies at the University in 1947 and retired in 1980 as a Professor of Slavonic Studies.

This award helps language students whose course has an element of Russian, Serbian or Croatian fund their time studying abroad.If you're chosen for the award, you won't have to pay it back after you graduate. 

Applications for the 2023/24 scholarship fund your travels in the following academic year (2024/25) are now open.

Are you eligible?

Eligibility criteria explained

To be eligible for the 2023/24 Monica Partridge Travel Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a registered student at the University of Nottingham on an undergraduate language course with an element of Russian or Serbian/Croatian
  • Be in the second year of the degree course
  • Be taking compulsory study abroad in the subsequent academic year
  • Be eligible for full UK government student financial support (i.e. assessed household income below £25,000)
  • Have Home funding status

Award value: £500

If the recipient of the award does not study abroad for any reason, it is the student's responsibility to make the Funding and Financial Support Team aware and repay the funds.

Applications for the 2023/24 scholarship fund your travels in the following academic year (2024/25) are now open.

The deadline for applications is Friday 17 May 2024.
