The Oblath International Enrichment Scholarship

For students who will travel as part of their studies and are on track for a 2:1 in their degree

The Oblath International Enrichment Scholarship aims to help lower-income students fund their studies abroad as part of their undergraduate degree.

If you are chosen for this award, you will receive a lump sum award before you leave for your time studying abroad. If you are chosen for the award, you won't have to pay it back after you graduate unless you don't travel.

Applications for the 2023/24 scholarship fund your travels in the following academic year (2024/25) are now open.

Are you eligible?

Eligibility criteria explained

To be eligible for the 2023/24 Oblath International Enrichment Scholarship, you must:

  • Have a household income of below £35,000 as assessed by Student Finance
  • Be registered on a first full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham (UK Campus)
  • Not be receiving external sponsorship for your course e.g. from industry/employers (University bursaries and Government grants do not affect your eligibility)
  • Be a Home undergraduate student at the University of Nottingham in year 2, 3 or 4 of study
  • Have completed at least one year of study at the University of Nottingham and be on track for a minimum grade of 2:1 in their studies so far
  • Be travelling abroad in the subsequent academic year as a part of study or related to study

Award value: Typically £750-£1000 depending on the strength of your application.

If the recipient of the award does not study abroad for any reason, it is the student's responsibility to make the Funding and Financial Support Team aware and repay the funds.
