Biomedical sciences is essential for advancing medical knowledge, diagnostics and treatments. It also contributes to public health, epidemiology and medical innovation.
During your degree, you will gain subject-specific knowledge and skills applicable to scientific and non-scientific careers, including interprofessional skills, critical thinking, communication, teamwork and leadership.
These skills are reinforced through hands-on experiences like the capstone project, summer placements and study abroad opportunities, as well as the fourth-year project in either academia or industry.
Our students have had placements with companies like GSK, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, Procter & Gamble, Notts County and Nottingham Forest, preparing them for careers in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, research and business.
