Part-time and distance learners

The following services are for part-time staff and students, distance learners and those on placement.

Copy Scan Direct

You can request scanned articles from our collections. Requests will be supplied free of charge.

How do I request an article?

  1. Use NUsearch to check that we have the article
  2. Complete the request form below:

  • Name
  • Copyright Declaration
    Please read the statement below and select 'Yes' to indicate you abide.
  • 1) I hereby request you to supply me with a copy of the item specified above. 2) I have not previously been supplied with a copy of the same material by you or by any other librarian. 3)I will not use the copy except for research for a non-commercial purpose or for private study which is neither directly or indirectly for a commercial purpose and will not supply a copy of it to any other person. 4) To the best of my knowledge, no other person with whom I work or study has made, or intends to make at about the same time as this request, a request for substantially the same material for substantially the same purpose. 5) If this item was delivered by an electronic method (which includes facsimile transmission), I will retain only a single paper copy and destroy any electronic copies after printing. 6)I understand that if this declaration is false in a material particular, the copy supplied to me by you will be an infringing copy and that I shall be liable to infringement of copyright as if I had made the copy myself. I have read the above statement and agree to abide by its restrictions.

Postal Loans

You can request books to be posted to your UK address.

How do I request a book?

  • Use NUsearch to check that we have the book
  • Send an email to with your UK address and the book details and we'll arrange delivery
  • All books are issued for at least one week and auto renew. We'll let you know by email if the book is requested and when it is due for return. 

Can I keep my book for longer?

Yes, unless someone else requests it. Books will auto renew on a daily basis.

How do I return my book?

  • In person to any University of Nottingham  library
  • By post books must be sent using ‘Recorded Signed For' delivery and it is your responsibility to pay for this.
