Postal loans
Winter break
The last date we will be able to post out physical interlibrary loans and postal loans will be Monday 12 December 2022.
Any requests received after Sunday 11 December will be posted out on, or after, Tuesday 3 January 2023.
About postal loans
University of Nottingham Libraries are offering a postal loans service for students and staff who meet any of the following criteria:
- Part-time and distance learners or
- Currently living outside the local area (NG1 - NG11) or
- Eligible for Enhanced Library Supportor
- Currently unable to visit the library in person (for example, due to shielding or self-isolation)
Please note, you will be expected to cover the cost of returning books to our libraries.
You will be asked to return your books if they are requested by another user. You will receive an email from the library if this is the case. If you are unable to return your books in person, you can send them back to us via post or contact Library staff.
- Available to students and staff who meet any of the following criteria: Part-time and distance learners or Currently living outside the local area (NG1 - NG11) or Eligible for Enhanced Library Support or Currently unable to visit the library in person (for example, due to shielding or self-isolation).
- University of Nottingham Libraries are unable to cover the cost of returning items to the library.University of Nottingham Libraries reserves the right to temporarily withdraw this service if we are unable to keep up with demand.
- We are unable to supply reference, periodicals, DVD or CD items via this service.
- We are unable to send books if they are required by other borrowers.
- Please allow up to 10 days for the delivery of your books.
- Postal loans will automatically renew every day in the same way as standard loans.
- You will be asked to return your books if they are requested by another user. You will receive an email if this is the case.
