We are absolutely delighted to be hosting the WFDF 2026 World Masters Ultimate Club Championships (WMUCC) for players in the masters divisions from around the globe. It’s exciting to bring international Ultimate to the UK and to run another large-scale WFDF tournament after our successful recent events, the 2024 WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships in Birmingham, and the 2023 WFDF Under 24 World Ultimate Championships in Nottingham.

Popular across the world, Ultimate is a fast-paced team sport played with a flying disc (Frisbee) across a rectangular field. Two teams of seven players battle to score by catching the disc in the opposing team’s end zone. Uniquely, there are no referees. instead ‘Spirit of the Game’ – a responsibility for fair play – is placed on every player.

The University of Nottingham is a long-standing event partner, and we’re happy to be working on something new together. UKU and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) have been working alongside University staff to prepare a world-class event. Good luck to all nations in their preparations for WMUCC. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Nottingham

The University of Nottingham also has a thriving Ultimate set up, with both Men’s and Women’s squads currently ranked in the top ten in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) programme.

We can’t wait to welcome UK Ultimate and the World Flying Disc Federation back to Nottingham for this hugely exciting flagship event in 2026. Our world-class sporting facilities and accommodation offer are the perfect fit for such a large international event and our performance sport services will ensure all the teams can compete at the highest level. The event will bring real benefits to our local Nottingham community, from economic impact to inspiring people of all ages to get involved in sport and activity. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase Nottingham as a vibrant hub for international sport and culture.
