Extenuating circumstances

If you miss some form of assessment or believe an assessment was affected by extenuating circumstances then you must complete an Extenuating Circumstances Form as soon as possible and no later than 7 working days after having missed the assessment. 

All forms must be accompanied by relevant documentary evidence. If you miss an examination, you should contact the School Examinations Office at the earliest possible opportunity and you will subsequently need to fill in an extenuating circumstances form which is found within the relevant section of the quality manual.

Students who wish to apply for extenuating circumstances will need to provide evidence that they have:

  • a long-term illness
  • acute personal/emotional circumstances
  • been the victim of crime

To supplement the extenuating circumstances form evidence is needed. This could be:
